FAQ’s

how are we different than other breeders?

Here are Graysville Goldens we pride ourselves in our dogs and the lives we give them. Our dogs are truly apart of our family, the way it’s supposed to be! All our dogs are very loved and very spoiled.

All of our current breeding dogs will be living their entire life with our family! Although we get asked it a ton… sorry none of our own dogs will ever be for sale! We love them wayyy too much and they are a part of our family, how could we ever part with them!? They look to us for love, support, maybe a belly rub or treat here and there; in turn, they make us the happiest when they are around!

Sadly, many breeders re-home their breeding dogs once retired in order to keep breeding. This is exactly what we want to avoid and is the main driving factor behind our guardian program! We place our future breeding dogs with a family to love and spoil them on a daily basis. Most importantly, they are able to live a normal life as a dog and a family pet! When the time comes, they return to our home to have some incredibly cute puppies which will go on to join some pretty amazing fur-ever families!

Every puppy born in our home is given the same love and many hours are put in readying them for their forever homes! We are so happy to share our puppies with many families across Canada.

All of our dogs are DNA tested to ensure genetically healthy and sound puppies!

How do I reserve a Graysville Goldens pup?

When applications have been opened:

  1. Submit an application. Once your application is approved we will contact you within a week. Sometimes we receive so many applications and messages that we cannot get to them all, there are so many wonderful families that apply! Please apply again :)

  2. Send the 1st payment ($200) of the $500 non-refundable deposit and be added to your desired waitlist.

  3. Puppies are born! The $300 is due and required to secure your spot for the litter. This $500 deposit will go towards the final purchase price of your puppy. We accept deposits via e-trasnfer. The total cost is the purchase price + gst.

  4. Puppy Selection occurs at 6 weeks.

  5. Puppies are ready to go home at 8 weeks and final payment is due.

How does puppy selection work?

Puppy selection can be a really tough process, we’ll do our best to help you through it :) Due to COVID we have began navigating our puppy selection through online portals such as ZOOM. In the warmer months we are able to do puppy selection in our local park. Out of province or out of country families will have individual pictures, videos and we can also do a video chat! You can also follow along with our posts and stories on Instagram!

What if my application was approved and my deposit was received but I can no longer take the puppy?

Deposits are non refundable. We understand life happens and things come up. We allow a ONE TIME transfer from one litter to another.

Please note: if you would like to be removed from our waitlist, you do not get the 1st portion of your deposit back ($200). This is to ensure your commitment. This is a big decision, please make sure you are ready for the time and dedication needed for raising a puppy :)

What if the litter that I am waiting for doesn't have enough puppies or the female doesn't get pregnant?

We do everything in our power to ensure a positive outcome for every litter. Sometimes pregnancies just don’t work out. If this happens your reservation will be transferred to the next available litter or we will figure something else out.

Do you offer a health warranty?

Yes, we provide a 2 year health warranty against life threatening congenital defects of the hips, elbows, eyes and heart.

can i buy breeding rights so I can breed my puppy later?

No, we do not currently sell our puppies with breeding rights. All of our puppies are sold on a strict non-breeding agreement and as “pet only”. New owners must agree to our terms and conditions on our spay/neuter agreement.
